5 Vegan Foodie Spots In Glasgow

by Jessica Amey

Glasgow has actually been voted the best vegan city in the UK before so you definitely don’t need to worry about where to eat out during your time there, if anything you need to worry about how you will manage to check out all the great places!

STEREO

You can find Stereo on Renfield Lane in the city centre. Not only are they a 100% vegan restaurant but also a late night bar with live DJs and a gig and club venue. Their menu sounds absolutely amazing, you can find it here. All their breads, cakes and desserts are baked in house and they use organic flours. They serve everything from pizza to vegan haggis and sticky sesame cauliflower wings (I would go for that option!). And just look at this vegan kebab!

MONO

Mono is another venue that combines music and vegan food. It’s located in Glasgow’s Merchant City and everything is home-made and cooked to order. The menu looks amazing, see it here, I would go for the macaroni cheese (a fave of mine) or the seitan burger also sounds delish. They do pizzas and hot dogs too, even beer battered sausages and chips! Yum!

And they do vegan roast dinners! We would love to be able to go out for vegan roast dinners at the weekend..

THE HUG AND PINT

The Hug and Pint is ANOTHER music venue combined with vegan eatery. It’s located in Glasgow’s west end and the food has been inspired by a wide range of Asian cuisines making it totally original. They food and staff have been critically acclaimed and I would love to go here.

THE 78

Also located in Glasgow’s west end, just off Argyle Street. The inside is cosy with mis-matched vintage chairs and an open fire and they also have a 100% vegan menu, and they are also a music venue with DJs at the weekend and live jazz on a Sunday evening. The menu sounds amazing, the desserts especially – cheesecake and churros!!

PICNIC

If you are looking for less of a restaurant and more of a cafe then Picnic sounds great. They are located on Ingram Street and are completely vegan.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay during your time in Glasgow then I would highly recommend Fraser Suites Glasgow. Their serviced apartments offer comfort, space and make you feel as though you’re in a home away from home. Situated in the beautiful Merchant City, it’s a great location close by to attractions, shopping and dining.
