One year ago I started a blog with no idea about how it was going to change my life.
My first post was called A Year Of Firsts and the last line in it was hoping that when I wrote this post I would be able to say that Iyla had finally slept through the night and thankfully I can!
So much has changed in the last year. Being a parent was all so new back then, it was all I wanted to talk about but it’s just normal now and I actually enjoy having conversations about things non-child related again! I don’t necessarily have any more of a clue what I’m doing but I don’t still feel the need to read parenting books from cover to cover.
I am so happy with how my blog has grown over the last 12 months, it makes me feel so happy to think that people actually enjoy reading what I write. I have mentioned before that it is the first time I have stuck at a hobby for any length of time, I think my previous record was with knitting which I kept up for about three days!
I just love it, it inspires me in all sorts of ways and I can’t imagine my life without it. I even started up a second blog – The Perfect Romance Experiment which is going really well. One of the other benefits of blogging is meeting so many lovely people, I have attended three blogging events so far and this Saturday is Cybher which is the big one. There are going to be hundreds of female bloggers attending and I literally cannot wait!
I am going to leave you with a look-back at some of my earlier posts….
Last June I wrote about death, not a very happy topic but one that was on my mind at lot!
July saw me fearing my eyeballs would be gauged out.
For anyone who doesn’t know how I feel about dogs, you can find out here.
August saw me reveal how lazy I am around the house.
I wrote this letter to Iyla when she had been out of me for as long as she was in me.
September saw me air my views on banning telly.
And when Iyla turned one I wrote about how she became my little friend.
Happy Birthday Mum2BabyInsomniac, here’s to many more!
And here is my new motto in life.
