A couple of weeks ago we went to visit Hestercombe Gardens in Somerset.
I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of Hestercombe before but after reading about Donna from What The Redhead Said‘s trip there I really wanted to visit. It looked gorgeous in the photos and it definitely didn’t disappoint in real life.
We went for an afternoon but found we didn’t have enough time to do it all so you could easily fill an entire day there.
The gardens are HUGE! There is a big pond / lake area in the centre with lots of ducks.
Then you can walk off into a forest and on the way you pass my favourite area, the waterfall. It was absolutely stunning to look at. It wasn’t something I would expect to find in Somerset that’s for sure!
At the end of the forest there is another lake.
Then we headed back towards the house where there were lots of water features to look out for along the way.
The flower gardens in front of the house were so gorgeous, it was lovely sunny afternoon too so we sat and soaked up some rays for a while.
We didn’t have time to look in the house or get a drink in the cafe, which has a lovely outdoor seating area, but we will definitely be going back soon as it’s so lovely there.
They also do weddings, it would make a gorgeous venue.
Thank you to Hestercombe Gardens for inviting us to visit, if you would like to know more about them then you can visit their website.
