Top Places To Visit For Chocolate Lovers

I’m pretty sure most people would agree that chocolate is one of the best things in the world, there are lots of different types so everyone can find a variety they like. From super dark to creamy white and coming in any flavour you could wish for in-between – I’m drooling just thinking about it!

Obviously right now visiting another country isn’t an option, but it doesn’t mean we need to go without our chocolate fix. Why not treat yourself to a chocolate hamper until we can travel again?

Switzerland
There are a number of chocolate factories here where you can see chocolate being made and try lots of samples. Here is a list of chocolate factories that offer tours.

Brussels, Belgium
Home to the Choco Story Museum and known as the ‘world capital of chocolate’, it’s where praline was created and it’s said that every 1 in 2000 people is a chocolatier. There are chocolate shops everywhere!! If you don’t want to do a tour then arrange planning your own chocolate tour of the city.

Mexico
Central America is known as the birthplace of chocolate. Cocoa beans and drinking chocolate are sold on the streets and it’s used in all sorts of recipes. There’s loads of places to visit in Mexico and perhaps it might just be one of the best countries to visit for chocolate lovers!

Ecuador
There are some amazing chocolate themed excursions to experience during your trip to Ecuador, you could easily fill a whole two weeks immersed in chocolate, from cocoa farm tours where you can also make chocolate to food tours around towns there is plenty of variety. Germany
Germany is one of the biggest chocolate exporters. Cologne is home to the Schokoladen museum which takes you back to where chocolate originated, there is also a restaurant where you can definitely curb any chocolate cravings you might be having!

Ghana
Ghana is the second largest cocoa bean producer and tourists can now take tours of the farms to learn about the process. There’s a range of tours which take you to Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm, before stopping off for lunch. You can also visit the Tafo Cocoa Research Institute where you will learn lots about cocoa before seeing some of the products it produces, including chocolate, soaps and body cream!
