A couple of weekends ago we went to Moors Valley Country Park, we’ve been a few times now and always love it. Cherry and I started the day by doing the junior Go Ape trail, we’ve also done this before and loved it. The first time Matt took Cherry up and I said I would never in a million years step foot up there then the next time I decided I wanted to get over my fear of heights and try it so I did and then this time I wasn’t even worried. In fact I would love to go back and do the adult course at some point.
The instructors are great with kids and explain everything to them really well.
There are two parts to the course, one harder than the other, both ended up at a big zip wire which takes you back down to the bottom. The idea is to run with your legs so you land on your feet instead of on your back but I still haven’t managed to do that.
You get an hour to go around the course and they mark your wristband so you can go up as many times as you can fit into your time slot, think we did it about four times but it’s possible to get more in. Cherry literally runs around it now. You can find out more about Go Ape HERE.
After Go Ape we went for a bike ride, Matt and I hired bikes as we don’t have any at the moment but the kids took theirs, Tiger is riding without stabilisers now so this was our first proper family bike ride. We’re definitely going to do it more as we all enjoy it. Moors Valley Country Park is great for riding bikes, there are a few different routes and even if the main area is busy you can end up somewhere quiet. There are loads of play areas to stop at as well. We love it.
There is also lots more to do including having a go on the steam train, we didn’t do it this time but you can read about our previous visit here when we did have a ride on it. You can also read about our Christmas visit there here which was amazing, we met Father Christmas and chose a Christmas tree.
Here are the videos from our last visit too…
Thanks to Go Ape for inviting us.
