Winter Coats And Cardboard Clocks #LittleLoves

Read…

books

I haven’t actually started reading Gone Girl yet but it’s waiting for me, I’m really late to the party so had no idea there was a film too but after I’ve read the book I will give it a watch to see which I prefer. I’ve tried a couple of recipes from this cookbook, one of which was great and the kids enjoyed but one of which was a total disaster! Almond pancakes that basically tasted like powdery egg, yuk!

Watched…

I’ve found there to be absolutely nothing on telly this week so I’ve been re-watching Sons of Anarchy again, surprise surprise! I’m doing the later seasons this time though, I’ve only seen season 6 and 7 once before unlike season 1 which I’ve seen about 10 time, I’m beyond obsessed.

Wore…

I can’t believe how cold and horrible the weather has been lately, I’ve been wearing my winter coats again. We’d better have a good summer, that’s all I can say!

Heard…

I’ve been a Paulo Nutini fan since his first album came out nearly 10 years ago! I’ve seen him live a few times at Glastonbury Festival as well as smaller party on the grounds later in the year. I love his voice, it’s so sexy. I also love the mixture of slow versus more upbeat songs too. We’ve had his latest album Caustic Love playing on repeat in our car for a while, the kids love it too.

Made…

We made these cardboard clocks over on my craft blog…

I also made this butternut squash and coconut soup which was so yummy, I put it in the slow cooked with some random spices and curry powder then left it all day before whizzing it up and adding the thick part of the coconut milk. So yummy. I made it with this five minute soda bread too which has been one of the most amazing things I’ve ever discovered!!

You literally stir up the ingredients, put it in the oven and 20 minutes later you have bread. You can adapt the recipe so much too, I’ve tried it with mashed bananas, cinnamon and raisins which worked so well. I use mainly spelt flour but might try and experiment with other types too, you can find the recipe over on Laurenne Hopkins’ blog.
