A Cardboard Box Play Scene With Hallmark Itty Bittys

by Jessica Amey

A few weeks ago we had a very exciting delivery of Itty Bittys. ‘Itty Bittys’ are a range of mini collectable toys by Hallmark and as soon as Cherry saw what was in the box she was desperate to get her hands on them but as always with work deliveries she wasn’t allowed to play with them until we had taken photos.

So for the next few days while we were busy working on other things she kept asking me when she could ‘play with the cute little things in that box’ and eventually on Sunday the time came for her to get her hands on them. I have to admit it’s hard not to love these little guys, they have bean bag bottoms so they stand up and there are characters from all kinds of movies, old and new. They’ve only recently been brought to the UK after being such a success in America and Australia, some have sold out in shops and are being sold for up t0 £100 on Amazon. I’ve actually just been looking as there are some Disney princess characters available that Cherry would love, the range available in America is HUGE so I’m hoping that they bring more over here.

We were asked to set up a play scene with the Itty Bittys to show what you could do with them and after speaking with Cherry we decided to make a cardboard box toy shop for them all to live in.

We were sent the characters from The Wizard of Oz…

The superhero range including Wonderwoman, Batman and Superman….

Snoopy and peanut…

And the limited edition Christmas Santa and Rudolph who were in their grotto waiting to see all the others who were queuing…

The kids literally love them and have been playing with them for days now. Cherry, in typical older sister style, shared them out keeping the ones she liked the best for herself! Luckily she wanted the girls so Tiger was more than happy to get Batman and Superman. They would make great stocking fillers, I’m going to go on a hunt for some more as they were such a hit with Cherry and Tiger!
