If you are planning a trip to Rome then you will find no shortage of things to do there as the place is steeped in so much history. Here is a little list of things to do…
Visit the Colosseum
It’s probably no surprise to find the Colosseum is on a list of things to do in Rome! You can book tickets here.
Go for gelato (vegan of course!)
When in Rome you have to go for gelato, and luckily being vegan doesn’t mean you have to miss out. There are lots of gelaterias offering vegan options; Gelatone, Tempesta Di Gusti, Fata Morgana, Leca Leca to name but a few.
Visit a market
I love going to markets when I’m in Europe, the fruit and veggies always look amazing and taste so much better than they do here in the UK, no doubt due to all the sun they get over there.
Visit the Roman Forum
The Roman Forum is an ancient site that consists of different ruins that were once the centre of Roman public and political life.
Visit the Sistine Chapel
Situated in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel was extensively restored in the 1400’s. It’s also home to some very famous artwork including the Last Judgement fresco by Michelangelo and the ceiling decoration.
Walk around the Piazza Navona
Built on the site of the stadium of Domitian, the Piazza Navona was built in the 15th century. Located near to the Trevi Fountain (also worth a visit), the square is usually full of artists and street vendors making it a perfect place to stop when walking around the city centre.
Go on a Rome ghost tour
If you are excited by the idea of paranormal activity then this one is for you! Find out more here.
Go to the opera
Going to the opera is a must when in Italy. You can see what’s on and book tickets through Rome Opera Tickets.
Go out for dinner
Being vegan isn’t a problem when looking to go out and eat in Rome, if you look on the Happy Cow app then there are no shortage of places offering vegan options. This place caught my eye, Vegetariano & Vegano as their burgers look amazing. There is also Radagast vegan bakery for cakes and Origano Trevi if you wanted pizza.
