Reusable Products For Lunch on the Go

by Jessica Amey

I try to be as careful as possible to limit how much plastic I buy but I am definitely not anywhere near where I should be. I still buy some food that is packaged in plastic, things like rocket which I LOVE and eat with pretty much every meal. I would love to find a farm shop that sold loose rocket but I can’t find one near me, even the farm shops that sell loose fruit and veg still seem to provide plastic bags to put it in, what is the point in that?!!

One thing that limits how much single use plastic I buy is making sure we take drinks out with us as well as our own lunch and snacks. Here are some products I love to use for taking lunch out with us.

This flask from Box Appetit by Black and Blum is great for taking hot or cold things as it keeps things hot for 6 hours or cold for 8 hours. It has a vegan leather strap and comes with a ladle style spoon too. I use it for taking soup out with me. It’s also BPA free.

Then this Bento Box is great for taking snacks, pasta or even a sandwich out. It comes with a fork that can also be used as a knife and has a divider and detachable pot for putting dipping sauce in. You could also use it for peanut butter and put fruit in the main section to dip it in. It’s also BPA free and is microwave and dishwasher safe. It’s also from Box Appetit by Black and Blum and you can buy it here.

Then this water bottle is Ion8, it’s of BPA Free, phthalate free, non-toxic TRITAN® by Eastman and is dishwasher safe. It’s leak-free, can be opened with one touch and is suitable for hot or cold drinks. It also comes in different sizes including one for kids. This one is really big which I love as quite frequently I drink the water out of smaller ones. It comes in different colours too. You can read about them here and buy them from Amazon.
